I know that I’ve posted a couple of blogs recently based around these verses, but I make no apologies for returning to them again today. They have so much to teach me and hopefully you as well.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been blown away by the energy, compassion and commitment shown by Dr Krish Kandiah in setting up the Sanctuary Foundation in such a short time as a Christian response to the war in Ukraine. What an example of these verses in action! He’s been inventive, he’s been encouraging (not only the UK church, but the whole of the UK) to show love and to help out. For an organisation that’s only been in existence for about 2 weeks, he’s been holding meetings with government ministers, challenging and encouraging them to do more, he seems to be constantly on tv or radio and has a growing celebrity following on social media. From a standing start he’s got 20,659 individuals, churches, community groups and businesses etc (numbers correct at the time of writing) to pledge their interest in sponsoring Ukrainian refugees to come to the UK.
I hope that Krish’s example of thinking outside the box, of not just sitting there complaining about the situation, but through him taking positive action, which in turn has inspired others to make a difference; that his actions make you stop and think! I’m not saying that we can all have such a massive impact for good, but through our creative efforts we can encourage others. So how inventive can you be today in encouraging love and helping out?
