Throughout our Time2 journey, we’ve always tried to be open and honest about the highs and lows we face. We feel that by being open about the difficulties and doubts we face, that our story is more relatable to people and that our testimony will be a more powerful story. We know that a lot of church leaders and Christian social media influencers only ever post “positive” stories. By doing this, are they not guilty of perpetuating the social media myth that everyone else’s life is perfect and that if yours isn’t, then there is something wrong with you?
You may have noticed that we haven’t posted for nearly a month. We have felt that we are in rough waters! That we are out of our depth, we’ve felt that after 2 1/2 years, that we’re too tired to attempt to swim against the raging sea of life. When I’ve sat down to write, I’ve just been staring at a blank screen, no ideas or inspiration. I’ve tried to write a number of blogs, but all I have to show are a few lines of waffle. We’ve had those moments (or even days/weeks) where we’ve wondered whether the Time2 vision will ever happen! Have we got something wrong along the journey or even if we’d made the whole thing up in the first place.
We have to keep going back to the promises we’ve been given and remember all the times where God has been faithful in the past and believe that He will do it again. Despite facing doubt, we’ve recently been able to meet some church leaders in person and others online and have seen that we’ve been able to encourage them and provide words of confirmation to them. We were also challenged by one couple about whether we could do more face to face meetings, while waiting for the house. We came away thinking that this was a positive step forward and working out how we can do this around Ruth’s job, but we were immediately hit by a couple of ‘family’ issues that have meant that we’re unable to move forward with this until next month at the earliest. We’re definitely facing a real challenge, so are hoping that is a sign that we will see a breakthrough soon.
We’d love you to sign up on our website as a supporter and to stand with us in prayer every month.
