How many of you are following government advice to wear a mask when going out shopping etc? If you are, have you purchased a mask or have you followed one of the hundreds of face mask tutorials that are all over social media?
I'm currently sat watching Ruth making a face mask, which is what prompted this short blog. I know that the masks are to protect those around us in case we're infected rather than actually protecting us. But it made me stop and think! We're all trying to avoid getting ill from this invisible virus, so we're washing our hands more thoroughly than before, socially distancing and wearing masks, which are all sensible things to be doing, but do we pay as much attention to what we are allowing into our minds?
I know that in this current season, we are all binge watching tv series and films, spending more time on social media, reading lots of books etc. But is what we're taking into our minds healthy for us, or is it infecting us? How is it shaping and influencing our thinking? God’s Word tells us to think on things that are true, noble, right, pure lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). Do these characteristics describe the things that we're allowing into our minds or do we need special PPE for our minds?
