Ultraprocessed Food

In the last 12 months in the UK there's been a big emphasis on Ultraprocessed foods (when you read a list of the ingredients, does it contain things that you wouldn't expect to find in a domestic kitchen?) and the damage that it's doing to our health, our bodies and our life expectancy. One of the doctors at the forefront of the campaign to get us all eating better is Dr Chris van Tulleken through his book, documentary and podcasts. Celebrity chefs are encouraging us to think about where our food comes from, there has been an increase in people buying organic foods and in farmers markets/farm shops. Everybody seems to be jumping on this cultural/health phenomenon, wanting to be able to trace our food from farm to table.

It got me thinking, many people are looking for meaning to life, for “spiritual” experiences, for peace and acceptance (to name but a few). They are seeking the real thing, they don’t want all the rules and restrictions that many religions impose. They don’t want “ultraprocessed” religions, what they are looking for is a good old fashioned relationship with God. A relationship that is built on love and forgiveness, a relationship that began in a garden.

The good news that we have to share, is ready to nourish the body right now, we don't have to "ultraprocess" it.  We need a nation of farm to table churches, who are loving and welcoming.
